More about Carrie Konn

Carrie graduated in 2022 from Duke University with her Master of Science in Nursing, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to graduate school at Duke, Carrie earned her Bachelor of Science, in 2016, from Florida International University. As a nurse, she worked in high-risk labor and delivery, caring for women with complex medical conditions in pregnancy and labor. She learned how valuable listening to patients was, and always chose to advocate for their health goals. During graduate school, she worked at a maternal fetal medicine clinic, learning more about women and caring for them during preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. Carrie loves caring for women but wanted a broader education to be able to care for the whole family. Her education from Duke provided her with that knowledge and she fell in love with caring for infants, children, and the whole family!

Carrie has a passion for personalized integrative healthcare and believes in the importance of getting to the root cause of your health symptoms. She uses her knowledge in clinical nutrition, lifestyle changes, specialized lab testing, and conventional medicine, to help you get answers and become your healthiest, best self!

My story and passion for integrative care and chiropractic care

I was 24 years old when I rushed to the Emergency Room at 2am with chest pain. I was diagnosed with GERD and immediately placed on acid reducing medication. I followed up with a few different gastroenterologists and was told repeatedly to stay on medications for the rest of my life. As a nurse, I knew long-term use of acid reducers could negatively affect my bone health so I refused to stay on it long term. I researched diet and lifestyle changes and found meditation, exercise, and a low-acid diet to be a great starting point. A couple years later, I found out about chiropractic care and how it can help people struggling with GERD and acid reflux. I received chiropractic care, and within a week, my symptoms completely went away. I went on to have 2 pregnancies with ZERO reflux or heartburn and through balanced lifestyle changes and no longer have GERD.

Time and time again I hear about people who have symptoms that keep getting ignored by their providers. Unfortunately, the standard of healthcare in the U.S. is focused on sick care, only providing comprehensive care during episodes of disease. My approach is to use clinical nutrition focusing on macro- and micro-nutrients, lifestyle changes, and specialized lab studies to help you become your healthiest, and best self! My own experience has shown me how valuable quality chiropractic care is as it re-establishes healthy neural pathways and gives access for your body to rest and heal. I believe that in combination with an integrative focus to primary care, Verve Holistic Health can help you reach all of your health goals!
